Loooong day

November 12, 2003 12:07 am

The day started on a good note, though – I got out of the extra math class and into the satire class.

It’s been a long day, though. Had an info meeting on the study abroad trip I’m hoping to go on next fall this afternoon. It sounds exciting…also a little scary, especially the food part. This is why I’m going to England, not Germany (ummm…keine Milch, bitte?). Well, part of the reason. Details later, I promise.

And then we had some decidedly obnoxious people around at work tonight…*sigh* It wasn’t really busy, though, so I did get homework done. Heehee, I love getting paid to do homework.

Anthropology test in the morning – sleep is sounding like a good idea.

I’m sorry for the trouble at work. At least they weren’t bugging you all the time!

Searching through the U.K. government’s web sites, I keep finding no solid information that states whether foodstuffs there must state whether they were processed in a facility that processes milk-stuff. It’s probably worded differently… I mean, the U.K. Government has an abundance of pages on allergies of all types. It wouldn’t make sense for them to ignore proper labelling practices. I tried looking through their actual laws on nutrition labelling, but just like our laws, they’ve been ammended so many times that it’s really tough to see what’s being said.

With that, well, I’ll ask my Genetics instructor. He being a Brit, after all, and taking off from class to travel to London in the middle of the term. 😛

Mean people?!? Who do I beat up?

*deepest apologies to O-Sensei, of whom I am a very poor student*

Thanks, Carmen, but no…they weren’t mean, just obnoxious. Like the chain smoker who comes in regularly – we refer to him as Smokey the Bear (which is kind of odd when you think about it…isn’t Smokey supposed to eschew that sort of thing?). He reeks. He’s also the one who says “You’re never open! You should be open all night!” We tell him there’s no way in heck we’re working down there all night.

And then there’s the consultant who comes down and his friends flock in after him. He’s a frat brother, which should more or less explain this phenomenon. But it’s all good… I mean, we’re getting paid and getting homework done.
