I hope to have some nice, meaty posts about the new job and last weekend’s Halloween-y events up here real soon.
In the meantime, I’d just like to say that happiness is…
…getting to school and thinking about how I don’t work in the payroll office anymore.
…walking down the street and hearing someone behind me break into the Reading Rainbow theme song.
…jack-o-lanterns. And costumes. And jack-o-lanterns in costume.

I can go anywhere…
Hey, did your German studies ever venture into the medieval? I want to get my hands on Tower Manuscript #133, to learn about women’s greatsword defense techniques in the 13th century, and I suspect I’m going to have trouble reading it. (I also have a Latin question regarding Bo Peep for one of your siblings, but I’ll call the house.)
Take a look, it’s in a book…
There were only a few people at GD in costume today. I saw … four, out of the thousand-or-so people. However, everyone in H.R. apparently dressed as witches. Still, I had fun. 🙂
Sarah,
The straight answer is not really, no. (In college, the professor who specialized in medieval German was the one whose classes I preferred not to take.) I’d love to take a look at it when you find a copy, but I can’t promise much.
As for Latin and Bo Peep, I look forward to hearing that story at some point.
Pug:
Don’t most HR departments do that on a regular basis?
(That’s really unwarranted from me. All the HR people I’ve dealt with recently have been very pleasant.)
Odette, I don’t think they regularly dress as witches, but they definitely maintain the reputation year-round!
At the last place I worked, the head H.R. person had an idol to Catbert and her door plaque had a piece of tape underneath neatly prefixing “Evil” to the title “H.R. Director”
